Curious to see what all the hype is about?

Our Try MTB sessions are all about getting first time riders excited about mountain biking & ready to learn more!

Join us as we ride with a group of first timers, focusing on foundational skills and riding along beginner trails. As part of the group, you will have the opportunity to meet others who are also making their first tracks off-road & learn the basics at a manageable pace.

Within this 2hr group session we’ll provide you with a hardtail bike / helmet & ride on some of the North Shore's beginner green trails and pathways.

The perfect way to try out mountain biking before investing in Private Lessons or our Progression Sessions: Foundation course.

Try Mountain Biking is offered from April - October.
Registration opens February 2025.

FAQs

Is this session appropriate for my level of experience?

Our try mountain biking sessions are aimed at those that are new to mountain biking and riding at our Adult 'Intro Level'. These sessions provide the perfect opportunity for beginner riders to venture onto some of the North Shore's easy green trails & pathways. If you can ride a bike, but have never ventured off-road before - you're in the right place!

Please refer to our Adult Levels page to read more about Intro Level.

Is this a lesson or a ride?

While this is a ride, we do include a basic lesson component to ensure each rider enjoys their experience of mountain biking to the full. We will ride up, through and down some smoother surface trails at an easy pace.

What to bring / wear?

- Some water to drink.

- Cycling / sports clothing & a rain jacket. (Dress in layers and avoid cotton clothing.)

Who will I be riding with?

Our try mountain biking sessions have a maximum participant to instructor ratio of 6:1. While all participants can ride a bike, they have little to no mountain biking experience.

All of our guides are professionally trained & hold a PMBI qualification. You can check out all of our instrcutors / guides here!
